Scanning electron microscope (SEM)

Morphologic and topographic information in nm scale about the surfaces of solid materials is necessary to understand functions of materials. We usually use scanning electron microscope (SEM) and/or transmission microscope (TEM) to observe surface structures of meso-porous materials such as MCM-41 and nano-crystals such as gold colloids.
